I am not sure how to react to this comment... Today I was driving home from Buzz Bakery in Arlington. All three kids were in the back of the van happily enjoying their fresh-baked cookies. I decided to take the slightly longer, but much lovelier drive home on the George Washington Parkway. We have lived here in the DC area for almost 2 years, but I still get lost on a regular basis. As we are driving passed the beautiful trees, the view of the river and all the joggers Sam suddenly asks, "Are we taking the hard way home?" I was startled by the question and I said, "Sam, I think you mean the long way home." And he said, "No, Mommy, is this the hard way home? You know, the way home where we have to turn around a lot..."
***By the way, I was not lost this morning.
That's so funny! I can remember a day, about two months after moving there, that I told Averie to get dressed because we were going to go to the store. She asked if we were going by car or by Metro. I said car. She said (and I quote) "Ah man! Not the car! I don't want to get lost AGAIN!" (By the by, she was only THREE at the time!)

Curtis remains convinced that there is absolutely no need for a GPS. In light of that, I have become gifted in map reading (from being an idiot). Still, there are days when L says, "Should we be quiet so you can concentrate on finding us..." heh, heh. Missing The Buzz though. ND restaurants aren't exactly on par...

ha ha ha : ) I was so bummed that I finally had a handle on DC driving around January, and didn't have a chance to make good use of it for another year!
