Today I received my 2nd Dan Black Belt at a ceremony at Iron Horse Tae Kwon Do. My actual test was last month. The test lasted several hours and included fitness tests, meditation, forms, weapons, board breaks and sparring. For today's ceremony I did a board break demonstration and then received my lovely new belt.
It is hard to believe that it was 6 years ago that Sam and I tested for our White Belts.
I did an ax kick board break.
A spinning punch board break.
I did a traditional bow to thank my family for their support. Thea represented the family.
Master Kim put on my new belt and gave me my official World Tae Kwon Do certificate.
Many thanks to Master Kim for his support and encouragement over the years.
I could not have gotten to this point without the support of my kids and Greg. Sam was home sick today, so he missed the ceremony. But my girls were there to cheer me on.
Woo hoo, 2nd Dan! :)
